 BLAZE Payroll System Features
The Technical Features of the BLAZE Payroll System are as follows
 
    •  Employee Menu : Employee Setup
      Employees' personal information within your organization may be added, updated or deleted manually using this feature. Some information required are employee ID, full name, gender, marital status, birth date, hire date and termination date. The employee records are arranged in boxes and you can double click each to view the full details. This also includes a search feature..
    •  Employee Menu : Loans Management
      This feature allows HR to note loans of each employee. Payroll items like SSS or Pag-ibig can be examples of employee loan. Loan start date and start of salary deductions are additional needed information.
    •  Employee Menu : Additional Earnings/ Deductions
      This feature allows you to add, edit and delete a payroll item, earning or deduction, subject for employee loan. You can set the item as an adjustment, recurring or included.
    •  Employee Menu : Compensation Management
      This is used to track the compensation packages of each employee. This is to keep track of employee's who has been in the company for a long time and has gradual change in salary. Information like the position, effective date, employment status, pay frequency and hourly rate are noted.
    •  Employee Menu : Tax Adjusting Entry
      Tax adjusting entry is an entry made at the end of an accounting period that is to assign income and expenses to a different period. This feature allows you to setup a tax adjusting entry per employee.
    •  Employee Menu : Beginning Year to Date Entries (tax)
      This is where the tax information like taxable income, tax withheld, SSS remittance, Philhealth remittance and Pag-IBIG remittance are noted per employee on a specified tax year.
    •  Employee Menu : Taxable User Specified Payroll Item
      Once a new payroll item is added, user can specify if the item is taxable or not.
    •  Employee Menu : User specified payroll items are SSS/ Philhealth/ HDMF
      A payroll item can be set as subject to certain government deduction like SSS, Philhealth and HDMF, and this can be set up in the system.
    •  Transaction Menu : Payroll Period
      A payroll period is needed to set the inclusive period for each payroll per tax year. A tax year is set from January to December; and inside that year, payday can be set as weekly, semi-monthly or monthly.
    •  Transaction Menu : DTR Maintenance
      Daily time report is managed in a separate module where you can import DTR written in excel if you don't have a time-keeping system yet. This feature is very useful to easily upload and download DTR information as needed.
    •  Transaction Menu : Payroll Process Wizard
      This guides the user step by step in going through the whole payroll process. All the needed computation for your payroll is automatic after you set the required payroll items like overtime, tardiness, performance appraisal, holiday pay, allowances, deductions, etc. The system was built abiding by the government's policies, so you'll have no worry missing out one.
    •  Transaction Menu : 13th Month Annual and Prorated Calculation
      Can be included in your payroll calculation is the 13th month pay. A 13th month pay is based on employee's “basic salary”. All employees who have worked in a company for atleast a month is entitled to this benefit. Annual and prorated computation for 13th month pay is automatically computed in the system.
    •  Transaction Menu : User Defined Payout Schedule of 13th month pay
      Defining a payout schedule for the 13th month pay can be set up in the system.
    •  Transaction Menu : Transaction History
      Every payroll transactions made and each detail are kept in the database for future reference.
    •  Reference Menu : References (breakdown)
      References for different payroll items are provided in a separate module where user can maintain them. Some of the included items are payroll items, position, compensation package, government mandatory deductions (SSS, Philhealth and Pag-ibig), employee status, holiday calendar and more.
    •  Reference Menu : User Editable Philhealth/ SSS/ Pag-ibig Tables
      Government mandatory deductions have to be maintained to have a reference of how much are the employee and the employer's contributions to these deductions.
    •  Reference Menu : Payroll Item
      This feature allows you to add another income or deduction as required to your company's payroll needs.
    •  Reference Menu : Position
      Employee position in the company is also maintained for reference. Positions in a company has different compensation packages.
    •  Reference Menu : Compensation Package
      Compensation rate and packages has maintenance table. Remuneration for each employee can be different depending on employee status and position.
    •  Reference Menu : Annual Tax Table
      Annual Taxation details are managed in a table for easy access and edits.
    •  Reference Menu : Employment Status
      Employment status like probationary, regular, contractual, resigned are examples of status that can be set to address company's needs.
    •  Reference Menu : Holiday Calendar
      To take note and easily monitor holidays, working or non-working, we added a calendar feature. This also serves as a reminder for the HR when to announce non-working holidays, adjust payday, or add holiday pay.
    •  Reference Menu : Tax Table Classification
      All the needed taxes are set up, maintained and updated as necessary to government policies using this feature.
    •  Reference Menu : Minimum Wage Earner Reference
      This is an added feature to select or add default payroll items for minimum wage earners. A minimum wage is the lowest hourly, daily or monthly compensation that employers may legally pay to their workers. Minimum wage differs on every region and depends on the kind of labor to be rendered.
    •  Reports Menu : Payslip
      Under report module, pay slip can be generated by transaction and by payroll period.
    •  Reports Menu : Payroll Register Report
      Payroll register can be generated periodically or monthly by department or position in the company.
    •  Reports Menu : SSS Salary Loans Report
      SSS (Social Security System) handles the fund of private employees. Employees with SSS salary loans can be tracked and a report can be generated using this feature.
    •  Reports Menu : Philhealth
      Employee list with Philhealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation) can be generated with its specified format.
    •  Reports Menu : Pag-IBIG
      Pag-IBIG fund (or Home Development Mutual Fund) is a program that provides affordable shelter financing for Filipino workers. A report for Pag-IBIG fund members may be generated.
    •  Reports Menu : Employee 2316
      This is the certificate of Compensation Payment/ Tax Withheld that can be generated in the system per employee.
    •  Reports Menu : Diskette Submission Reports
      Certain government required reports need a diskette copy. As a feature, the system generates diskette submission reports.

 Why is the system not suitable for large companies?
Large companies having huge number of employee means that the business needs are more comprehensive and complex. They have much complicated business processes that the system might not be able to address to.
 What are the security features integrated in the system?
The security features are the login authentication using login names and passwords; and different access rights depending on user role.
 What are the unique features of this system?
Blaze is very simple and that it has all the necessary things you need in a payroll system. This also offers a visually stunning user experience through the use of the latest technology from Microsoft WPF's (Windows Presentation Foundation) sub-system called Silverlight.
 Who are the people allowed to use the system?
Only the people with authenticated user logins can access the system. These users are set by the system admin or Accounting personnel.
 Can the system be customized for our own company needs?
No, if customizing the system would mean adding new features or functionalities. Blaze is a complete business solution package and only the payroll items and their computations may be defined.
 I already have an HRIS from BlastSuites, can this system be integrated with Payroll?
Yes, definitely! This system can be integrated with MS Accounting and Time-Keeping system as well. The integration would add more comprehensive functionalities to your payroll.
 Is the system accessible for online and offline users?
The system can be used on any location even without internet connection. The application was built on smart client architecture that allows it to run on local network. If you want to sync information from one pc to another, you can do so by using the network connection or if not possible, you can go online and sync the database.
 I am not really good at computers; can I still install this software myself?
Yes, definitely! The installation process is really easy to comprehend and there are instructions that will guide you through the whole process.
 Is it user-friendly?
Yes, definitely! The system is easy to navigate, everything is readable, and a user manual and help file are available for your reference anytime.
 Can the regular employees generate reports like their paychecks using the system?
No, as of the moment we are focused on the admin side of the payroll system but we might consider this in the future. Pay slips will be printed out by an authorized system user.
